What is the difference between UPS and UPS Access Point? ›

The UPS Store: Multiple, wide-ranging services. UPS Access Point: Drop-off or pickup at local businesses. UPS Drop Boxes: For 24/7 drop-off. UPS Customer Centers: On-site UPS operating facility.

If you want to pick up your package at a UPS Customer Center, your request must be received by 7 p.m. If you're unavailable when UPS attempts delivery at your address, UPS may deliver your package to a UPS Access Point^® location near your home, where your package will be held for you to pick up for 7 calendar days.

Yes, if you're a UPS My Choice member, The UPS Store and other UPS Access Point locations can hold your package for up to seven calendar days at no additional charge. Customer centers can hold your package for up to five business days.

You cannot drop off a UPS package at a USPS station. Nor can you ask USPS pickup for a UPS package. You can only use USPS pick-up or stations for products being shipped via US Postal Service. United Parcel Service is NOT the same as US Postal Service.

A UPS Access Point® is a local business that acts as a secure pickup and drop-off location for UPS packages. These UPS-affiliated businesses include grocery stores, gas stations, and other retailers. The location itself is a touchscreen kiosk inside the business accompanied by a stand of secure lockers.

When you drop off your shipments at UPS Customer Centers, there is no charge. Please be aware some The UPS Store® locations charge additional fees for serving as a dropoff location, and some will not have the ability to print your label or may charge you to print your label.

Carrier facilities are not safe for the general public, and so carriers do not allow you to pick up packages at a carrier facility, even if it is very close to you. However, some carriers enable you to “intercept the package” by rerouting it to a retail location or post office for pickup.

You can request an intercept from the tracking detail page when tracking your package or you can follow the steps below to request one from your shipping history. Please note: you must request an intercept prior to the first delivery attempt.

Can UPS leave package at door? ›

UPS Access Points don't have the option of paying for postage and printing self-adhesive shipping labels, so you need to do it yourself before you go to an Access Point to drop your package off. You can create and print shipping labels on UPS's website or use a third-party service like PostageMaker.
