I took my daughter for a pedicure this morning. The one we selected came with a 10 minute chair message. The gentleman that messaged me smelled like cigarettes. Big turn off in a spa… secondly, I felt him brush up against me. Okay, first time a mistake. Then again and again; touching my hip with what I can only assume to be you know what. I got up because I could not enjoy a back rub like that. My daughter’s masseuse was at least standing a foot away from her. May just be his personal style but it grossed me out. No thanks. Won’t be back. We pay money for this?? I left the nail tech a generous tip for the pedicure. She did a great job. The message that was included. No thanks. I should have said something and perhaps I will once I calm down. Needed to get home and shower

I had my nails done on a Friday. While using the drill, she kept going so fast it burned. I kept flinching and telling her it was hot. She was so rude and just kept doing it. Not only was the lady rude but once she ran my card, she asked me if I was going to tip her. She told me she’ll take a cash tip. Very weird. Then, Sunday one of my nails just fell off. It’s now Tuesday and two more are broken. I spent $70 and feel like they should last longer than a day or two. I won’t be going back and don’t recommend them.

Was always pleased but today was different. I noticed a sign over mail drying station stating an up charge for using credit cards, I’m not sure if that is legal or not. I know discounts for cash are legal at gas stations. I’m not certain about nail salons or their verbiage. They have always had a rule that tips had to be cash. I never gave it much thought. Today I paid with a credit card. I had taken 20% of the cash total (not credit card total) out in cash to leave as a tip. They confronted me and insisted I pay 20% of the credit card total. I was embarrassed. I gave it to them rather than creating a scene. Now that I’m reading others reviews of similar situations I won’t be going back. Something doesn’t seem right.

Me and my girlfriend went to this nail spa to get a manicure for her and a pedicure for me. The woman who did my pedicure did a good job. Also the woman who did my girlfriends manicure did a good job. That’s where the good stopped. Upon completion of my pedicure I went and paid for both services for myself and her. My girlfriend said that she would pay the tip so I didn’t have to break a large bill. I agreed and took the tip to the woman who did my pedicure. Upon completion of my girlfriend’s manicure. The owner asked the woman who completed my girlfriend’s manicure did she get a tip speaking in spanish. Not knowing that my girlfriend spoke and understood spanish. The manicurist informed the owner that she and her co-worker had both indeed received tips for their service. Also my girlfriend had also told the owner that tips were given. The owner apparently did not believe neither of them and went and asked the pedicurist did she receive a tip. This was done in front of other customers. In which the woman who had come to get a manicure with another woman said. ” I would go and get my tip back. “

In the past (prepandemic) I have always been very pleased with the manicure and pedicure spa services. The experience quality has greatly reduced. They no longer provide a timer to ensure that the customer gets their 10 minute massage for their lavender spa pedicure. Secondly the massage wasn’t really a massage the technician was just rubbing a lotion on my feet. It felt brisk and inexperienced. There is no longer a complementary neck massage while you get a manicure. But most of all they demanded a 15 to 20% tip. I handed them A five dollar bill and one of the gentleman told me that tip is usually 20% and walked away. Another woman demanded for my mother to pay 15% and even charged her credit card $10. This is simply ridiculous and humiliating. The manicures and pedicures are very expensive and tip is complementary, never have I ever been asked for more money as a tip from a nail spa.

Positive:Cleanliness,Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,ValueI’ve been going here for years for pedicures – best place hands down for them. Friendly, clean, professional & great job. BUT! If you need a facial, GO SEE CINDY! The most amazing 90 minutes of your life. Cindy is sweet, professional and has magic hands. I’ve had facials at top spa’s and nothing compares to Cindy’s facial!!!Services:Manicure,Facial treatments,Pedicure

My spa pedi and mani was mediocre. The technician as she filed my nails kept rubbing my cuticles. I told her she was burning my skin and she didn’t modify her technique. The massage was half done and felt rushed. The hot stone massage was literally cold and rushed. The topping on my horrible experience was when they demanded 15% tip .. I couldn’t believe that they had the audacity to require a tip after paying $ 73. I was shocked needless to say they lost not only myself as a customer but my daughter also .. I did tell them i will never step foot in that place again.

I took the women who are mothers to get pedi and mani. I paid and left with my son. When I ask the women how it was, I was told that they were asking about the tip the whole time. Usually you get a tip when you do a good job. They got $15 a piece. They are lucky the women i took there are nice ladies because i wouldn’t of gave them nothing.

Critical:ProfessionalismI went in for just a pedicure, there least expensive one and did not get nail polish because it is cold out. Most of the staff always want you to leave before your nails are completely dry and wear Sanders. It is too cold to do that in Dec. I was in there less then forty five minutes. They asked what amount for a tip, I said thee dollars. The staff gasped, it was not enough! They took out $5.00! I will NEVER go there again!!I went in for just a pedicure, there least expensive one and did not get nail polish because it is cold out. Critical:QualityI got a classic french gel manicure on a Friday morning for a wedding. My nails didn’t seem to be done very well. After I left I noticed there was a fuzz stuck in the polish of my left thumb nail. I also noticed the paint was not all the way to the edges and was separated in some spots. Today is now Tuesday and most of the clear paint started to peel off at the base and sides. I decided to just peel them off because they looked bad. Needless to say they peeled right off no problem… You’re not supposed to be able to just peel them off. Not happy. Not worth $50 to last 3.5 days.I got a classic french gel manicure on a Friday morning for a wedding. My nails didn’t seem to be done very well. FAQs

What nail service is best for your nails? ›

If you have weak or brittle nails, consider a regular or shellac manicure as they are less damaging. If longevity is a priority, opt for a gel or dip powder manicure. If you want to add length or dramatically change your nail shape, acrylics could be your best bet.

Are spa manicures worth it? ›

A spa manicure is an excellent way to get the perfect manicure that can last for weeks, making them a great investment for those who want to maintain their look.

What is the difference between a basic manicure and a spa manicure? ›

A spa manicure typically lasts longer than a regular manicure, and more emphasis is placed on the overall experience, rather than hand maintenance. The base service typically doesn't include acrylic, dip or shellac nails, so if that's what you're looking for make sure you talk to your technician ahead of time!

Why is a spa manicure more expensive? ›

Explanation: A spa manicure is more expensive and has a longer service time compared to a regular manicure due to the additional luxury services offered in a spa setting, such as hand massages, paraffin wax treatments, and the use of high-end products.

Are dip nails better than gel? ›

Durability.

Individuals with oily nail beds or chip-prone nails, for example, may have trouble getting a gel manicure to last for more than two weeks. If that describes you, dip powder nails are the superior option because they're built up in layers, which enhances nail strength and creates a barrier against chipping.

What is the healthiest type of nails to get? ›

Overall, Dip Powder Manicures are a great way to get a healthy manicure that will protect and strengthen your nails without causing any damage.

How much do you tip at a nail spa? ›

Should you cut your nails before a manicure? ›

You may want to clean up your nails before a salon visit, but don't trim them yourself.

What are the cons of gel manicures? ›

Gel manicures can cause nail brittleness, peeling and cracking, and repeated use can increase the risk for skin cancer and premature skin aging on the hands. To keep your nails healthy before, during and after gel manicures, dermatologists recommend the following tips: Be proactive with your manicurist.

Which nail shape do men typically prefer for a manicure? ›

Male manicures are similar to female manicures. The only difference lies in the nail shape and the type of nail polish used. Men typically prefer a more natural nail shape with a squared-off tip. The polish used for male manicures is usually clear or matte.

What is the easiest manicure? ›

If you're not one to carve out time to get a gel manicure soaked off at the salon in two or three weeks' time, a basic manicure is your best bet. There are simply fewer steps involved, and it's a solid choice if you're in a rush or generally impatient.

What is a no chip manicure? ›
